Overview
EPQLS is a modular programme designed to provide the public with a structured pathway to learning the Quranic language, beginning with the basics and progressing to advanced levels. The programme focuses on communication approach with integrated Quranic Language skills. Classes will be conducted in person by experienced and knowledgeable instructors from IIUM. Participants will gain both theoretical insights and practical training to strengthen their proficiency and comprehension of Quranic language.
The programme is open to the public, as well as students and university staff.
There are no specialised academic prerequisites listed (e.g., prior Arabic language proficiency is not explicitly required).
As a short‐executive style language programme, formal degree entry requirements typical for full‐degree programmes (CGPA, etc.) do not apply here.
Note: Because this is a short & executive course (rather than a full degree), some standard regulations (English/Arabic placements) might apply in general at IIUM for executive programmes.

2026 Intake
Term 1: 10 January 2026 – 14 March 2026
Term 2: 7 March 2026 – 9 May 2026
Term 3: 6 June 2026 – 8 August 2026
Term 4: 7 November 2026 – 9 January 2027
Complete Course: 60-100 hours
The duration is 20 hours total, delivered as 2 hours/week for 10 weeks per course.
Thus: one semester of approx. 10 weeks, meeting once a week for 2 hours.
Because this is a short‐course, the duration is fixed and not multi‐year.
Total fees: RM 1,650 – 2,750
Local fees Full-time: RM 1,650 – 2,750
Local fees Part-time: RM 1,650 – 2,750
International fees: RM 1,650 – 2,750
Fees shall be revised in accordance with the government’s implementation of SST, where applicable.
Notes: the fees does not include recurrent fee, graduation fee and accommodation
