DESCRIPTION:The MicReady: English for Emcees is a workshop offered by the Institute for Language Advancement (IfLA)\, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). This workshop is a practical\, hands-on workshop designed to help participants speak confidently and naturally in English while hosting events. It focuses on real emcee language used on stage for participants learn what to say and how to say it effectively.\nParticipants will practise delivering announcements\, introductions\, transitions\, and closing remarks using ready-to-use scripts and sentence templates. Through guided speaking activities\, live practice\, and immediate feedback\, participants will improve their pronunciation\, pacing\, tone\, and overall microphone presence. \nThe workshop also addresses common emcee challenges such as managing stage nerves\, recovering from mistakes\, and handling simple unexpected situations like delays or technical issues. By the end of the workshop\, participants will leave with practical language tools and increased confidence to perform professionally as an emcee in real event settings. \nInstructor: Br.
