of knowledge. Yet in an age overflowing with data, we remain in search of something deeper.<br \/><br \/>Our recent virtual lecture with Dr. Nurul Ain Norman invited us to rediscover Ilm as more than the acquisition of facts\u2014it is the arrival of meaning within the soul. From there, we were reminded that beyond knowledge lies Hikma (wisdom): the capacity to perceive reality rightly and to place every matter in its proper order.<br \/><br \/>At the heart of the discussion was Adab\u2014a concept long emphasised by almarhum Royal Laureate Professor Ungku Abdul Aziz Chair, Tan Sri Dr. Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas, as the very foundation of true education. More than etiquette or good manners, Adab is the intellectual and moral discipline of recognising the proper place and rank of every reality.
