Named after the world-renowned Malaysian scholar and founder of ISTAC in 1987, Royal Laureate Professor Tan Sri Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas, the SMNA Library stands as a distinguished repository of knowledge, reflecting a legacy shaped by intellectual depth and civilisational vision. A thinker of rare clarity, Prof Naquib’s work called for a re-ordering of knowledge grounded in faith, ethics, and the enduring purpose of education, leaving an imprint that continues to guide scholarly inquiry.
Within its walls, rare manuscripts, classical texts, and contemporary studies are brought into quiet conversation, forming a space where tradition and critical thought converge. Open to scholars and students alike, the library offers an atmosphere of disciplined stillness—where knowledge is not merely accumulated, but contemplated—honouring a living tradition of learning that continues to illuminate the present.
Masjid Zabedah is a two-level mosque of quiet distinction, modest in scale yet rich in presence, accommodating approximately 200 congregants. Recognised as a Surau Jumaat by JAWI, it is entrusted with the observance of the Friday congregational prayer. Open at all times, it stands as a constant sanctuary—welcoming the seeker, the scholar, and the passerby alike. Its refined architectural character invites stillness, where moments of devotion are gently interwoven with reflection and thought.
The Friday khutbah, delivered in English by a rotation of respected khatibs, offers measured and accessible discourse, embodying a tradition that speaks meaningfully to the present. In its humility, Masjid Zabedah endures as a place where faith is contemplated, knowledge is honoured, and the rhythm of worship continues unceasingly.
