In a meaningful step toward institutionalizing sustainable practices and enhancing environmental stewardship, the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) — through its dedicated sustainability arm, PLANETIIUM — officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Think Plus Academy on 6 March 2025.
This partnership marks the beginning of an exciting and impactful journey toward Green Project Management and Sustainability Certification for projects led by PLANETIIUM and other kulliyyahs across the university. It reflects our deep commitment to embedding sustainability principles into every layer of our academic, administrative, and community-driven initiatives.
This collaboration goes beyond a ceremonial agreement; it is a strategic alignment with global best practices in sustainability, empowering our university to take bold, structured, and certified steps towards greener campus development and responsible project implementation. Through this initiative, students, staff, and faculty members will be able to elevate the standards of their projects, ensuring that environmental consciousness is not just a goal — but a practice rooted in every stage of planning, execution, and evaluation.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Mr. Alexis Santiago, whose initiative and foresight during a SINAR training session laid the foundation for this collaboration. His effort in introducing PLANETIIUM to Dr. Norsaidatul Akmar, the visionary CEO of Think Plus Academy, was instrumental in forging this meaningful alliance.
