The Institute of Planetary Survival for Sustainable Well-being (PLANETIIUM), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), successfully organised the Basic Caregiving Course for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Elderly Individuals, Stroke Patients, and Post-Accident Patients on 23 June 2026.

The course was designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical caregiving skills to support individuals requiring long-term care, including persons with disabilities, elderly individuals, stroke survivors, and post-accident patients. Through comprehensive sessions, participants gained valuable insights into providing safe, compassionate, and person-centred care while enhancing their understanding of the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of care recipients. The participants also took the opportunity to visit and explore the PLANETIIUM facilities such as Frozen Zoo and laboratories.

PLANETIIUM extends its sincere appreciation to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haliza Hasan and Dr. Rosnani Sarkarsi for their informative presentations, professional guidance, and invaluable expertise, which greatly enriched the learning experience for all participants.

We also express our heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic engagement and active participation throughout the programme. Our sincere appreciation is also extended to the organising committee members whose commitment, teamwork, and dedication ensured the smooth and successful implementation of the course.
