On Saturday, 21 September 2024, from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM, the coastal shores of Pantai Cherok Paloh were the focal point of a large-scale environmental effort as volunteers gathered for the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) 2024. Organized by INOCEM (Institute of Oceanography and Maritime Science), the event brought together diverse groups of participants, including children from Rumah Kanak-kanak Sultanah Hajah Khalsom, Pasukan Gerakan Awam, local communities, and students and staff from IIUM (International Islamic University Malaysia).

The cleanup aimed to combat marine pollution and raise awareness about the importance of ocean conservation. Volunteers worked together to collect litter along the coastline. The event was not only a physical effort to clean the beach but also an educational initiative, reminding participants of the crucial role they play in preserving our oceans. The enthusiasm and teamwork shown by the participants highlighted the shared commitment to ensuring a healthier environment for future generations.

Thanks to the collective efforts of all involved, Pantai Cherok Paloh is a little cleaner, and our oceans are one step closer to a sustainable future.
